Consumer Code For Home Builders
Looking after our customers and aiming to ensure the whole buying process goes as smoothly as possible for you is paramount to us. We want you to be so pleased with our service and your new home that you will buy from us again. We are pleased to adopt The Consumer Code that sets requirements that Home Builders must meet, if registered with a supporting Home Warranty provider eg. the NHBC, as we are.
Home Builders may adopt the standards of good practice, procedures and information, as detailed in the guidance against each core requirement. The purpose of the Code is to ensure that Home Buyers:
- are treated fairly
- know what service levels to expect
- are given reliable information upon which to make their decisions and
- know how to access speedy, low-cost dispute resolution arrangements if they are dissatisfied.
Where a Home Builder is found to be in serious breach of the Code, Home Warranty Bodies can apply a range of sanctions, including removal from the relevant Home Warranty Body’s register and exclusion from all registers run by other Home Warranty Bodies who participate in the Code scheme.
More details of the scheme including downloads of the code are available on the Consumer Code for Home Builders website.
