Community Funding

Support in the community.

Over the last 30 years Norfolk Homes has given significant financial funding and manpower contributions to local community projects which have all had a positive impact on communities. For example we have given land to local groups for their choice of use, financially contributed to building playgrounds, restored and restocked fishing lakes, sponsored local football teams and carnivals.  We get involved. Why? Because we are a Norfolk company, Norfolk is our community, so when we build a development in a village or town in Norfolk we want it to be a positive addition to the existing community. If you have been lucky enough to live in a good, strong community you will be aware of all the many benefits it enables; friendships, social and support  networks amongst other things.

New home builders are required as part of the planning agreement to contribute towards community projects eg. help fund schools and recreation facilities, improve roads, /pathways etc. But we go beyond these requirements. Read on to see the latest projects we have been involved with.

Football stars of the future?

Norfolk Homes builds not just homes but communities and that’s why we are very happy to help out Halesworth Town Juniors, under 7’s teams, the Tigers and Lions by providing their football kits. The two teams are hoping to be a roaring success in the Macron Norfolk and Suffolk Youth League U7 Development and we’re sure with determination and the help of the team coaches they will be; who knows, they could be the football stars of tomorrow - which is fantastic as long as they play for Norwich or Ipswich!!

Craig Lockwood, Designer and Energy Assessor here at Norfolk Homes is one of the proud coaches.

Craig said:

"We all know how important it is to get our children outside and actively exercising  - away from their phones and video games! Football, apart from being fun, develops team building skills, is superb aerobic exercise and with the right environment children will learn, flourish and most importantly enjoy themselves regardless of the result. These children have a sense of pride when kitted up and ready to play for their team and with the help of Norfolk Homes they now feel the part whilst playing their matches across north Suffolk and east Norfolk.
Being an Ipswich fan myself, I shall be scouting for future Ipswich players to strengthen our squad!”

Good luck Halesworth Town Juniors from all at Norfolk Homes!!

Inspirational at  90 years old!

Norfolk Homes were delighted to sponsor 'Volunteer of The Year' at  this year's South Norfolk Council's Volunteer Awards.
And the winner is…
Rosemary Lee-Bliss!

She was voted 'Volunteer of the Year' by a panel of judges who had this to say about Rosemary:

'Rosemary, who is 90 years old, has been a long serving member (now President) of the New Costessey Old Friends club.  Her ability to put people at ease and make them feel welcome is, without doubt, the essence that keeps the club going.  Rosemary is thoughtful, reliable and a confidant for anyone who needs a listening ear.  She is always willing to do anything asked of her and is loved by all.  She is the first to welcome and assist newcomers, making tea and selling bingo tickets, setting up chairs and tables… she is quite often told off for doing too much!

She will be given £250 to be donated to a charity or community group of her choice.

We think she is a pretty amazing lady and truly inspirational - people like Rosemary help communities to stay united, just as we think they should be.
